I personally have no complaints about the new STI. I especially love that they brought back gold wheels... The only choice really. Also, how do I post on a page other than my own personal blog? Anybody know?

Subaru also tests their wings before sticking them on the back of their cars. They do reduce drag and produce some down-force.

Who's complaining? The wing is about as STI as it comes.

Yeah, but that was in the ricer craze 90's, when having a big wing on the back of a Japanese sedan was the IN thing.

They should have faded to obscurity by now, what with modern aerodynamics and whatnot.

Relative to a low deck mounted wing that does very little for aero (it's hidden from the wind by the canopy); the high mount wing on the Evo and STI actually work

I see that you've been interested in Dusty's rally posts and seem pretty rational. I've added you as an author on Oppo. Welcome aboard.

I took them all at once. Still waiting to come down. It's only been 7 years.

Yeah I don't understand only fools complain about the wing on an STi.

It's a bit much, but that's the point.

That "big-ass wing" is part of defining the STI's menacing looks. I for one, am glad they (Subaru) still incorporate it (though I do also like the limited spoilers). Nonetheless, it can easily be removed or swapped for something more subdued, if desired.

I hate them because, functional or not, they look sooooo JC Whitney. But as long as they can be deleted, who cares?

There are no modern trends in Aero. Japanese manufacturers have to make due with sporty sedans with big canopies to compete with true sports cars and the only way to get additional downforce is with high wings and a smooth underbody. I don't see people complaining about the high wings on Porsche 911's. Why?

I've always favored subtle (and I mean *really* subtle) lip spoilers on various vehicles, but to me an STi is simply not an STi without the humongowing. I'd drive it proudly.

And they were just as awesome then!

I like the big wing.

I am closet ricer, hear me roar.
